My mother called me the other night to ask if I could help her set up a “FaceSpace” account so that she can start sending out “Tweeps.” Although she hasn’t quite figured out the lingo, my mom now understands what most of us already know: All the interesting conversations and connections are taking place on Facebook and Twitter.
The Problem
Like many of you, Facebook and Twitter have changed the way I make connections, share ideas and communicate with friends. As I find myself spending more time on my social networks, it has become increasingly difficult to keep up with all the activity and interesting conversations. I have to get stuff done during the day and can’t afford to spend too much time hanging out online. That is why our team created NutshellMail.
The Solution
NutshellMail is a free service that enables you to connect, manage and interact with all your social networks through your email inbox.
Why Email?
Why connect our social networks with email? Well, the reality is that most of us still rely on email every day. Email remains the killer app and the most common way we communicate online.
How it Works
NutshellMail works by sending an email snapshot of all your social networking activity on a recurring schedule that you define. Most of our users receive three email updates a day. Our Facebook integration will show your new messages, wall posts, friend requests, birthdays, invites, posts from your friends and more. Our Twitter tool allows you to track new followers, quitters, direct messages, @ replies and search phrase results that you configure. We also support MySpace, LinkedIn and those extra email accounts that you often forget to check.
An Interactive Email
NutshellMail does more than update you on new activity in your accounts. Through the email digest you can actually update your status, reply to friend’s posts, share stories and send tweets via email. While we do not intend to replace the need for you to log into your accounts, most of the actions you would take online can be done directly from your email inbox.

Our mission is to keep you connected with your friends and productive at the same time. It may sound counter-intuitive, but we believe everyone can be an active participant in the online conversations and still get their day-to-day task done.
